Jackson Health System, one of the nation’s largest public health systems, recently embarked on a $1.4 billion, 10-year capital plan that includes new construction projects, the renovation of existing facilities, and infrastructure improvements. This strategic plan will transform Jackson into a modernized, patient-centered healthcare system that can better meet the future needs of Miami-Dade County residents and international patients who travel to Jackson because of its medical expertise.
The plan provides a clear visualization of the future of the health system’s facilities, best practice patient and visitor flow patterns, alignment of services with facilities, and a step-by-step transition plan and costs.
AECOM is providing program management owner’s representative services to assist Jackson for the duration of this project. Our scope of work will encompass projects throughout Jackson’s entire integrated healthcare delivery system, which includes Jackson Memorial Hospital, the nation’s largest public hospital; Holtz Children’s Hospital; the construction of a new, world-class Jackson Rehabilitation Hospital; Jackson Behavioral Health Hospital; Jackson North Medical Center; Jackson South Community Hospital; a new 100-bed hospital and medical complex to be called Jackson West in west Miami-Dade County; and up to 12 urgent care centers that will expand Jackson’s reach into neighborhoods throughout Miami-Dade County. Most of the major construction projects will be completed in the next five to seven years.
