1944

Huber, Hunt & Nichols, Inc. is founded in Indianapolis and specializes in industrial/manufacturing facilities.

1956

General Motors asks Hunt to build a facility in San Francisco – in essence, inaugurating Hunt’s expansion across the US.

1975

The Mercedes-Benz Superdome (built as the Louisiana Superdome) is completed, becoming the largest domed stadium in the world.

1990s

Hunt is ranked among the top 25 general contractors in the nation.

2000

Huber, Hunt & Nichols, Inc. becomes Hunt Construction Group.

2006

State Farm Stadium (built as University of Phoenix Stadium) is completed by Hunt and named one of the “World’s Ten Most Impressive Sports Structures” by BusinessWeek.

2007

The second major expansion of Chicago’s McCormick Place, the West Expansion, is completed and wins the Award of Merit by Midwest Construction.

2008

Nationals Park (Washington, D.C.) is completed and becomes the first LEED Certified professional stadium.

2008

LAC + USC Medical Center Replacement Hospital, one of the largest public hospitals in the country, is completed.

2009

Lake Buena Vista’s Bonnet Creek Resort is completed and wins the Award of Excellence by Southeast Construction.

2012

VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System Medical Center is completed and wins a 2011 Nevada OSHA SHARP Safety Award.

2014

Hunt merges with AECOM, a fully integrated infrastructure and support services firm.

2014

One World Trade Center, the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, is completed. The 104-story, 3.5 MSF tower reaches a height of 1,776 feet and achieves LEED Gold certification.

2017

Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center Expansion is completed, making it the largest capital improvement project in San Antonio history and is awarded the 2016 DBIA National Award of Merit in the Civic/Assembly category.

2019

Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport’s North Terminal is completed and features 16 airlines and 170,000 SF of glass curtainwall.

2019

One Vanderbilt in New York City opens and stands 58 stories and 1,401 feet tall. The 1.6 MSF tower achieves LEED Platinum and the highest level of WELL certification.

2020

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport Terminal 3 Modernization is completed, marking AECOM Hunt’s fifth project working with the airport.

2020

Sofi Stadium is completed and becomes California’s largest outdoor entertainment space. The venue also contains the largest video scoreboard for professional sports – 360-foot, double-sided, 4K resolution.

2021

The Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences New Orleans opens after a transformative adaptive reuse of a commercial tower, offering 341 hotel rooms and nearly 100 hotel-serviced condos across its 33 stories.
