Located in the startup section of Xinchuan Science and Technology Park, the Chengdu 5G Smart City Pilot Zone is a demonstrative area that pioneers the integration of 5G and AI in its planning.

With the vision of a high-quality science and innovation space for the local community, as well as a benchmark project of livable environment, the area will be built into a safe, human-oriented, shared, beautiful and intelligent industrial community.

In the urban design of Chengdu 5G Smart City Pilot Zone, AECOM puts forward the vision of “A Humanistic Xinchuan, with Technological Future.” The team believes the technological innovation is driven by real life needs. Chengdu’s rich local heritage would serve as the foundation to foster innovation and reinforce the city’s cultural authenticity.

The planning sets a leading model that activates land use by public space development and develops a balanced symbiosis of digital technologies and authentic city culture on the foundation of science and technology and the local culture environment.

The design proposed the building of a smart ecosystem around the “industry, space and service” framework to lead the development of communities with industrial ecology. It also takes into consideration elements of industry, transportation, environment, community, architecture and market operations to fulfill most real life needs.
