Sichuan Taikang Hospital, located in Chengdu’s Tianfu New Area, officially commenced operations in 2023. With a total floor area of approximately 185,000 square meters, the hospital offers comprehensive health management services for individuals across all age groups — from newborns to the elderly.
As a premier international medical center serving Chengdu and the wider Southwest China region, the hospital is a Tier-3 Grade A facility, integrating clinical care, education, and research. With over 40 departments and a planned capacity of 1,001 beds, it strategically develops key disciplines such as general practice, psychosomatic medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, and rehabilitation, while prioritizing specialties including obstetrics and pediatrics, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, oncology, and palliative care.
AECOM’s multi-disciplinary team delivered a full suite of professional services for this project, including architecture design, medical planning, interior design, landscape architecture, and MEP consulting.
Our project team, dedicated to the principles of low-carbon and green health, has strived to create a balance between optimal humanized space experience, operational efficiency, and architectural quality. Our innovative designs, which blend international perspectives with local adaptations, have established the hospital as a flagship medical-nursing complex in Southwest China, contributing to the well-being of the community.
Looking ahead, the hospital will be seamlessly integrated with the adjacent premium senior living community — Taikang Home · Jinguan Mansion — forming the Taikang Tianfu Medical-Nursing Campus. This will be Southwest China’s first “super-integrated” complex combining healthcare, education, research, eldercare, and rehabilitation. AECOM continues to support the project’s ongoing development, helping the client build a holistic, full-cycle platform for medical and senior services.
