AECOM announced today that it is ranked in the top 200 for the fourth-consecutive year on Newsweek magazine’s U.S. Companies Green Rankings list. AECOM is ranked at number 162 on the list.

Rankings include the top 500 U.S. companies based on environmental footprint; reporting practices; and management, including policies, programs, initiatives and targets.

“AECOM is honored to be recognized as a top green company for the fourth-consecutive year on Newsweek’s Greenest list,” said John M. Dionisio, AECOM chairman and chief executive officer.  “Our business mission — and the uniquely qualified expertise of our people for improving living conditions — contribute to energy-efficient buildings, connect people and goods through better transit and transportation systems, ensure the safety and availability of the world’s water supply, develop renewable energy solutions, and protect and restore the health of our environment.”

AECOM’s 45,000 employees — including architects, engineers, designers, planners, scientists and management and construction services professionals — serve clients in approximately 125 countries around the globe.  The company’s projects vary from the World Trade Center site, in New York City, to the world’s largest cable-stayed bridge, in China, to the upcoming London Olympics, to seven of the largest infrastructure projects underway around the world.

“As more companies embrace and commit to sustainability, maintaining our presence in this ranking by Newsweek is especially gratifying,” said Gary Lawrence, AECOM vice president and chief sustainability officer.  “Looking forward, we are advancing several key global initiatives that reflect AECOM’s commitment to creating, enhancing and sustaining the world’s built, natural and social environments.”
