AECOM performed a data gap analysis, detailed site investigation, and remedial planning for this abandoned silver, gold, lead, zinc, copper and cadmium mine southwest of Houston, BC. The mill area site consists of abandoned wooden infrastructures, a tailings area where slurried tailings were pumped behind a containment wall, an ore stockpile area and loading chute, and a small reservoir that supplied the mill with process water. This was a high risk site with environmental contamination present in site soils and uncontrolled transport of contaminants to nearby surface water features.
