New terminal with room to grow
Twilight falls over the new circular atrium at the Wichita Falls Municipal Airport in Texas.
AECOM was retained to provide architectural and engineering design services for the $32 million new terminal building. The airport shares joint service between passenger flights to Dallas and military flights from neighboring Sheppard Air Force Base. The new, 52,000-square-foot facility includes two passenger gates, new jet bridges able to serve larger charter aircraft, a passenger USO area equipped for military personnel and their families, a museum showcasing the air force base aircraft and operations, and room for future growth.
