AECOM’s Civil & Structural and Mechanical & Electrical Engineering teams together with the Cost Management KPK QS team received the Achievement of Excellence for our respective contributions in the delivery of KVMRT Line 1 (Phase 1) Sungai Buloh-Semantan.
The recognition is part of the Project Delivery Partner, MMC-Gamuda’s win of Best Major Infrastructure Project (Contract Value More Than RM100 Million) award.
The official awards ceremony was held in Kuala Lumpur on 15 September 2017.
“We are elated with this recognition by the industry as it acknowledges our team’s capabilities and our successful collaboration with the various stakeholders in developing this key rail infrastructure“, said Ailee Loh, Vice President, Transportation, Malaysia.
Meanwhile, Toh, Keng Loi, Executive Director, PCC, said: “A project of this magnitude requires extreme attention and we are glad to play a role in ensuring our clients and stakeholders achieve the best value.”
The KVMRT is the largest public infrastructure development in the country to date and is an Entry Point Project of the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP) under the Greater Kuala Lumpur/Klang Valley National Key Economic Area (NKEA).
AECOM was engaged as Lead Consultant for the Northern Elevated section and Detailed Design Consultant for Underground Stations for Line 1, which is now in full operation since July 2017.
The MCIEA, organised by the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) of Malaysia, is an annual event to recognise excellent achievers in the industry, as well as a platform for healthy competition among industry players to achieve best practices in implementing construction projects.
