Scott Dunn, Chief Strategy Officer and Vice President (Asia) at AECOM and Executive Committee Chair of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Asia Pacific, participated as a panelist at the ULI Singapore-Singapore Land Authority (SLA) Geospatial Forum. Held at the Singapore Land Authority’s headquarters at 55 Newton Road, the event brought together industry leaders to discuss the transformative role of geospatial technologies in shaping inclusive, resilient and sustainable urban environments.
Organized under the theme “Unlock the Power of Geospatial for Sustainable Urban Development,” the forum explored how geospatial tools are revolutionizing urban design, planning and sustainability. Other panelists included Colin Low, Chief Executive of the Singapore Land Authority; Ku Geok Boon, CEO of SG Enable; and Prof. Chang Chew-Hung from the National Institute of Education. The discussion was moderated by Ng Siau Yong, Director of GeoSpatial & Data and Chief Data Officer at SLA.
Key topics included the role of geospatial technologies in fostering inclusivity, mitigating urban heat and driving decarbonization efforts. The forum also highlighted practical strategies for using real-time geospatial data to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability in urban planning.
Attendees gained valuable insights into how geospatial technologies, combined with artificial intelligence and other innovations, can support human-centered urban development and address challenges such as climate resilience and resource management. The discussions reflected Singapore’s ongoing leadership in geospatial innovation and its commitment to advancing sustainable urban solutions.
