Daniel Levy, PG, is a vice president with AECOM’s environmental business line in the Americas. Dan's 33 years of experience in the environmental industry includes research and development of innovative treatment technologies for the prevention of harmful algal blooms and the implementation of innovative algae harvesting technology. Dan served as the project director for the algal bloom restoration programs that occurred this year in both Lee and Martin Counties in Florida, United States. He is the co-inventor of the patented SEDCUT dredging technology developed for the removal of nutrient-rich phosphorus-laden sediments from Lake Okeechobee. Dan is the recipient of an Environmental Excellence Award from the Western Dredging Association and a Superior Excellence Distinction Award from the Department of Environmental Protection Southeast District for outstanding environmental practices in restoring one of Florida’s most polluted waterways.
