NEW YORK (July 21, 2025) — AECOM, the trusted global infrastructure leader, today announced the appointment of Jim Renne as Senior Vice President and Managing Director within its U.S. sports practice. Mr. Renne will lead and manage the practice’s business and client relationships to advance growth and strengthen AECOM’s leadership in the sports market.

Working in close collaboration with Dan Meis, FAIA, Director of Global Sports Design, and Bill Hanway, Executive Vice President and Global Sports Leader, Mr. Renne will bring extensive experience in the design and delivery of professional and international sports venues, positioning him to guide AECOM Sports into its next chapter of industry-leading excellence.

With nearly 30 years of experience across venue design and construction, operations, project finance, and real estate development, Mr. Renne will help clients enhance fan experiences and advance next-generation venue strategies. He will draw on AECOM’s integrated advisory and design capabilities to support opportunities across established leagues and high-growth areas such as women’s professional sports and global football.

“AECOM has long been recognized for its pioneering influence on sports venue design and their track record for creating progressive, holistic venues that anchor contemporary global communities,” said Mr. Renne. “I’m excited to join AECOM’s talented sports leadership team as we expand our capabilities within an already strong national practice. Our goal is to position AECOM to capture increased market share while supporting the long-term strategic growth of the business.”

Mr. Renne joins AECOM from JLL, where he led the Sports and Entertainment Project Development Services business. There, he represented professional sports teams and development investors in the delivery of complex new builds and renovations integrated into large-scale mixed-use developments. Previously, he spent over 20 years at ROSSETTI, where he served as Sports Principal and led design teams behind several high-profile facilities, including the award-winning UCLA Health Training Facility for the LA Lakers and Daytona Rising, the 2016 Sports Business Journal Venue of the Year. At ROSSETTI, he was a key member of the leadership team, contributing to firm-wide strategic initiatives, including expansion into Asian markets and R&D efforts aimed at aligning design innovation with clients’ business goals.

AECOM’s sports practice is a globally integrated design studio operating out of Los Angeles, Kansas City, and New York City. Led by some of the industry’s most visionary designers and technical experts, the studio delivers groundbreaking sports venues across professional leagues, collegiate athletics, global mega-events, and entertainment districts.

Mr. Renne’s role is effective immediately.
