AECOM Hunt served as CM for the University of Texas at Arlington Science and Engineering Innovation and Research Building, a 229,000 SF, six-level building.
The facility is composed of a four-story research wing, two-story classroom wing with over 21,000 SF of classroom space and 900 seats, a basement level laboratory space, as well as a bridge over the pedestrian plaza connecting the SEIR building to the existing engineering building.
The laboratory wing features glass interior walls facing the atrium space, creating visibility into research being conducted. Dedicated laboratory facilities were built with vibration-resistant structures to accommodate highly sensitive research equipment.
The facility was designed and constructed with sustainability in mind, with high energy efficiency heating and cooling systems, water conservation practices and sustainable materials for interior finishes and flooring.
