AECOM Hunt served as CM for this 630,000 SF, fast-track project that included a 519-room Westin Hotel on a five-level podium containing meeting and conference facilities, TSA airport security screening facilities, a light rail train station, several signature canopies at the hotel and train station, and the Level 5 plaza area connecting this development to the existing terminal, affording retail and special event opportunities

AECOM Hunt’s work also included the extension of the Automated Guideway Transit System structure from the face of the existing terminal into the new public transit center, extension of the existing baggage handling system from the terminal into the podium, and integration of the existing tent roof structure with the new construction.

AECOM Tishman, in a joint venture, is serving as CM for the Private Public Partnership (PPP) construction of this state-of-the-art 23-gate facility that will reimagine the international passenger experience at JFK and span the sites of the former Terminal One, Terminal 2 and the Terminal 3.

Yielding a net increase of more than two million SF over the existing terminals, it will provide 22 new gates to accommodate larger, wide-body aircraft, as well as feature more than 230,000 SF of concession space and 116,000 SF of airline lounges.

AECOM Hunt is serving as CM for this design and construction of a new Terminal 6 (Phase 1), and the demolition, design, and construction of Terminal 7 (to be then an extension of Terminal 6).

The roughly 5-year project involves the construction of a new 1,100,000-SF, three-story terminal, 706,000 SF of apron, and associated roadways.

AECOM Hunt served as construction manager for the new North Terminal at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport – a nearly $1 billion project.

Working in partnership with local contractors Gibbs Construction, Boh Bros and Metro Site Services, we delivered this major new terminal which completely replaces the aging terminals to the south side of the runway.

AECOM Hunt, in a joint venture, served as CM for the Maynard H. Jackson Jr. International Terminal at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

This 1,430,000 SF terminal includes new gates, custom offices, an Advanced People Mover (APM) station, a new baggage handling system, two new parking structures, elevated roadways and an APM train/utility connector to the existing Concourse E. In addition, the team completed gate, baggage, fuel pit and jet bridge modifications at the existing Concourse E.

In a joint venture, AECOM Hunt served as design-builder for the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport Terminal 3 Modernization, which included the renovation of the terminal facility and the north concourse, and the addition of a new south concourse

The comprehensive, phased project comprises a number of facilities that support the overall operation of an aviation passenger terminal, such as:

Terminal Processor: This 340,864 SF complete remodel and expansion of Terminal 3 encompasses four levels – mezzanine, passenger, service and street.

In a joint venture, AECOM Hunt served as CM for the modernization of Southwest Airlines Fort Lauderdale Airport Terminal 1. The project scope encompassed a new five-gate concourse and renovation of the existing Terminal 1, including new landside facilities, TSA security check points, Federal Inspection Services space, expanded seating areas and new retail and concession spaces.

The scope of the new five-gate concourse included airfield paving, accommodation for fueling and other aircraft support facilities, as well as a connector linking the new gates to the existing Terminal 1. The two-story connector structure includes a passenger area, hold room seating, concessions and retail spaces and aviation offices.

AECOM Hunt, as part of a joint venture, teamed up with the Indianapolis Airport Authority to deliver a new landmark to Indianapolis: The Col. H. Weir Cook Terminal at Indianapolis International Airport.

The new 1,275,000 SF terminal features two concourses, 40 gates and a grand main lobby area full of retail and restaurant space. Designed for a streamlined travel experience, the airport has been named The Best Airport in North America by Airports Council International for ten consecutive years.

AECOM Hunt served as CM for this 84,000 SF aircraft hangar with a 2,500 SF connector, associated partial apron, sitework, and employee parking facilities.

The hangar can accommodate one Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Employee parking accommodates over 300 vehicles. The concrete apron totals approximately 2,610 SY. Value engineering helped to reduce the cost by 15% and, due to the reductions and approval of the reductions, the construction schedule was shortened to meet the airport mandated deadline.

AECOM Hunt served as CM for this 420,837 SF aircraft maintenance hangar & ground support equipment (GSE) complex.

An important part of this project was navigating construction while eliminating impact to ongoing operations and improving airfield safety and security. Once the team was mobilized, AECOM Hunt assisted GSE in a temporary move to the west MX center and continued to coordinate all move management. A focus on utilities and early work elements included the AECOM Hunt team coordinating with LAWA CALM to identify, isolate, and reroute gas, water and technology. By recognizing the need for existing GSE/MX to seamlessly operate, early enabling work allowed the team to give back usable space faster and provide RON positions timelier.
