Having successfully provided Supervising Consultancy Services during Construction Stage of the KVMRT Line 1 (Kajang Line) for both Northern Elevated Section and over half of the Underground Section, AECOM is now involved in providing similar Supervising Consultancy Services in part of another large scale national infrastructure – the East Coast Rail Link.
The East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) is a 665-kilometer rail connection between the east and west coasts of the Malaysian Peninsula. The line is anticipated to be a major contributor to the growth of the country’s East Coast Economic Region (ECER), an area covering some 51 percent of the Malaysian Peninsular, including the states of Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang, as well as the district of Mersing in Johor.
Inclusivity through infrastructure
Upon completion in 2026, the ECRL with play a crucial role in linking cities and towns along the line, including Peninsular Malaysia’s main shipping ports, helping spur growth and increasing employment and other economic opportunities for the local population.
The line is also expected to attract tourists, trade and investment, promoting economic integration and strengthening ties between the region and other major cities.
Proven track record in providing Supervising Consultancy Services in large scale rail projects
AECOM is providing site supervision services for the infrastructure construction, which include stations, viaducts, tunnels and more. The scope of services includes overall administration, overseeing technical compliance of construction works, assisting in the implementation of QA/QC procedures and assisting in technical matters arising at site.
The project team works closely with the client to ensure that sufficient supervising personnel are mobilized at site to cover the activities of this major infrastructure. The project team at site is being supported by the design team in AECOM Malaysia office when facing technical challenges in the delivery of the services.
