The Utah State University Aggies commissioned an ambitious expansion and renovation to their existing football stadium in 2015. The LEED Gold Certified project consisted of replacing the antiquated press tower on the west sideline, refinements to the seating bowl and added fan amenities.
Revenue generation of the stadium was enhanced by adding 24 private suites, 26 loge boxes and 700 club seats for patrons. A premium club space for fans is suspended 30 feet above the site below. Substantial cantilevers help the building navigate the uniquely constrained site.
Nestled in the Cache Valley of Utah, the new addition offers spectacular panoramic views of the Bear River Mountains and reflects the character and tradition of the campus. This dramatic backdrop is carefully celebrated through transparency and framed views, providing a fitting setting for the gridiron struggle taking place on the field below.
The architectural design was a collaborative effort combining the local knowledge and expertise of Method Studio with the national sports expertise of AECOM.
