AECOM is proud to have participated and sponsored Geo Connect Asia 2024, held at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre in Singapore from March 6-7.
Several Asia Region leaders joined and led the discussions on digital city transformation, emphasizing the importance of data governance and stakeholder engagement.
Scott Dunn, Chief Strategy Officer, Asia laid the foundation for the topic “Implementing a Digital City: Challenges, Solutions, and Lessons Learned”. Chan Yue Chun, Head of Spatial Data Office, joined the session and shared the work done by the Development Bureau, Hong Kong SAR Government on Hong Kong’s 3D Digital Map.
These insights were discussed alongside Singapore’s approach as provided by Hui Ying Teo, Deputy Director, Survey Services & Mapping and Eric Koh, Deputy Director, Special Projects, both from Singapore Land Authority (SLA).
Yvonne Cheu, Executive Director, Digital of AECOM also shared her experience in project implementations in both cities.
Thomson Lai, Managing Director, Digital, led a forward-thinking discussion on urban digital twins. He shared the importance of data integration and setting up the correct workflow during his panel titled “Taking urban digital twins to the next level: optimisation, integration & future possibilities”.
Argoon Chuang, Regional Digital Consulting Lead for Asia, presented a session on “The Promise of AI in Construction Technology: Industry Transforming or a Big Fat Fallacy,” exploring the transformative potential of AI in the infrastructure industry. Kuang Ping Chiu, Executive Director, Civil, continued the conversation, focusing on how automation and digital technology are pivotal in managing risks to critical infrastructure assets.
