AECOM successfully concluded its “Embracing Environmentally-balanced Construction” forum held in Singapore on September 23, 2024.
This event invited clients to discuss and promote nature-positive development as a solution to some of our most pressing environmental challenges.
Frank Sweet, our global business unit chief executive for Environment and Energy, led the conversation on adopting nature-friendly solutions, the challenges we face, and how construction industry players can make a meaningful impact.
AECOM Environment leaders Anthony Cole, regional line director for Environment, Jagriti Dawra, executive director for Environment, and Ash Welch, biodiversity lead in Singapore and nature positive lead for Asia, were present at the event to share their experience working on environmentally conscious projects. Joining them were Professor Sivasothi N. from the Department of Biological Sciences at the National University of Singapore, and Professor Shawn Lum from the School of the Environment at Nanyang Technological University, who shared their knowledge and perspectives on balancing progress with preserving nature.
The event concluded with a goal of further developing and promoting nature-based solutions, advancing sustainable construction, and fostering social equity and long-term economic growth that benefit both society and nature.
