Zoe

EHS Consultant I, Environment – Remediation

Taiwan

What is your name and role at AECOM?

My name is Zoe Wu and I am an EHS Consultant I in AECOM’s Environment – Remediation team.

How long have you worked for AECOM?

I joined AECOM in April 2023, so It’s been 1.5 years since I worked for AECOM.

Describe your role and day-to-day work?

My role is to assess the environmental and social performance of development projects and provide lender a third-party perspective insight, assisting them to make financial decisions; and to conduct audits on facilities to assess the EHS performance.

Thinking about the projects you are involved in – what impact have you had to improve social outcomes for communities?

As my work focuses on examining the social performance of projects of its whole life cycle, my colleagues and I were continuously communicating with clients for affordable improvement measures to mitigate the social risks on the nearby communities and stakeholders.

How has your work at AECOM contributed towards having a positive impact on the environment?

The underlying idea of the audit and assessment work we do is to identify the potential negative influence, and then minimize the influence of human actions to the environment.

Do you have any interesting experience around collaboration, multi-disciplinary work, and thinking and acting globally at AECOM?

For some projects, we collaborated with colleagues from other business lines, to provide a more complete service to the client. I get to see how other sectors work, and to explore other possibilities for our talents.

How has AECOM helped you in your career development?

AECOM is a big company in terms of scale, so I got to know what different services an infrastructure consultant firm can provide to their clients. My colleagues had also guided me into understanding the objectives of each project, and I have chances to raise any questions or speak up my thoughts to the execution of the project.
