AECOM Tishman provided construction management services for a new 10,000 SF surgical suite, designed by EwingCole, located on the 9th floor of the east wing of the hospital’s main building at 535 E. 70th Street.
The project scope included demolition of the former pediatric area and installation of three operating rooms with accompanying adjacent semi-restricted scrub rooms, seven prep/PACU bays, an airborne infection isolation room, a patient wheelchair lift, staff locker rooms and lounge, implant/equipment storage rooms, and associated clinical support spaces. Part of HSS’s campus modernization, this project was completed while the larger AECOM Tishman team was at work on the Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Tower, a new 13-story, 86,000 SF building straddling one of Manhattan’s busiest roadways, the FDR Drive.
