AECOM Singapore has entered into a partnership agreement with Chinese and Singaporean firms to cooperate on the further development of the newly established China-Singapore Innovative Planning Research Center. The establishment of this non-profit collaborative platform marks the 30th anniversary of the Suzhou Industrial Park in 2024, and aims to strengthen international cooperation and exchanges in the field of planning and construction.
Jee Yi Yng, managing director of AECOM Singapore, signed the memorandum of understanding on behalf of AECOM on September 12, 2024. The Chinese partners are Jiangsu Provincial Planning and Design Group, Co. Ltd., Suzhou Urban Construction Investment Development (Group) Co., Ltd., and Suzhou Sungent Holding Group Co., Ltd, and the Singaporean companies are SCP Consultants Pte. Ltd. and CPG International Pte. Ltd.
AECOM has had this client relationship in China for over 30 years. The signing of this MOU brings this relationship to another level and strengthens this partnership.
The China-Singapore Innovative Planning Research Center was established as a non-profit collaborative platform and marks the 30th anniversary of the Suzhou Industrial Park in 2024. It aims to strengthen international cooperation and exchanges in the field of planning and construction.
Together with its partners, AECOM has committed to accelerate the operation of the center through the establishment and management of a China-Singapore think tank, the exchange of knowledge on urban development and research, and the implementation of practical projects, among other things.
The parties will be working through the principle of “Connecting the World, Innovating Practices, and Refining Experiences,” and will showcase the “Singapore Model” and “Park Experience” as exemplary models for the future development of international cities, providing high-quality development in the construction sector of Jiangsu Province and China.
