AECOM Singapore was recently honored with an Award of Excellence at the 2023 International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) Asia Pacific Awards for its transformative work on the Sungei Tampines project. Recognized under the “Built Projects: Parks and Open Space” category, the award celebrates the team’s success in revitalizing the waterway and creating a vibrant green corridor for the community.
Completed in 2015 as part of Singapore’s Active, Beautiful, Clean Waters (ABC Waters) program, AECOM was tasked with redesigning the Sungei Tampines and Sungei Api Api to seamlessly blend the river corridors and waterways with the surrounding parks and spaces.
Our multidisciplinary approach consisted of our water, landscape, and environment teams’ collaboration, resulting in a project which prioritized improving water quality, and enhancing livability for residents.
The awarding ceremony was held at the IFLA Asia-Pacific Regional Congress in Tokyo, Japan on November 17, 2023.
