We are proud to announce that AECOM was awarded the 2024 Community Impact Change Catalyst Award from the New York chapter of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), as part of the chapter’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) awards program.

Firms recognized in the Community Impact category must demonstrate a commitment to making social justice a core value, from supporting suppliers in historically underrepresented communities to fostering DEIB when interacting with the public. The Change Catalyst award is the top award in this category, presented annually to the firm that best integrates DEIB principles into their engineering mission and business culture, while making sustained efforts to deliver tangible improvements in social justice outcomes.

AECOM actively engaged in a minority- and women-owned business enterprise job fair as part of our program management work with the New York City Housing Authority’s Comprehensive Modernization Program, enabling us to recruit diverse talent who represent the communities we serve.

We prioritize embedding DEIB values into our work, uplifting our clients, stakeholders and society at large. To ensure our project teams are representative of our clients and their constituencies, we promote equity in our supply chain through partnerships with small, women-owned, service-disabled veteran-owned, minority-owned and disadvantaged businesses. From Fiscal Year 2022 to FY2023, our overall diversity spend among these subcontractor categories in New York City, New York State and New Jersey increased by 79 percent, totaling nearly $95.5 million.
