AECOM’s innovation shines at Google AI challenge in Singapore

Our team continues to make major advancements in our automation journey for Underground Utilities (UU) Combined Services Plans (CSPs).

Our team took on an AI challenge organized by Google, MDDI, DISG, BCA, and EDB in September 2024. They developed an AI-based auto georeferencing tool named “GeoSnap,” which slashed production time to an impressive 2-3 hours. This innovation ensured more standardized and consistent layering, annotation, and symbology in the resultant drawings. This remarkable achievement was recognized with the prestigious Transformation Award, underscoring the groundbreaking impact of Infrastructure design automation.

GeoSnap represents a major leap forward, achieving a 95% productivity gain by reducing the overall time spent on georeferencing service maps from 10-15 days to just 2-3 hours. This tool drives our design digitalization journey to new heights, enhancing efficiency and setting new standards in infrastructure industry.

The development of GeoSnap and the initial UU CSP automation tool marks a significant milestone in our commitment to innovation and efficiency. Our strategic direction and continuous efforts in driving digital innovation in our core business services, empower us to deliver smarter, more efficient, and sustainable solutions for our clients, while staying ahead in a rapidly evolving industry landscape.

The recognition for this achievement fuels our excitement about the possibilities that these advancements bring to our projects and clients.
