As part of the mitigation measures for the Canal Expansion Project, AECOM completed a feasibility study that identified a crossing method to satisfy both projected travel demand and community development goals. The study identified environmental, socioeconomic, cultural, and historical impacts of bridge and tunnel alternatives, and suggested mitigation measures to minimize those impacts.
As a specialized set of service providers, AECOM served in many critical and crucial roles in successful delivering the Confederation Line, which is the first segment in the City of Ottawa’s Light Rail Transit System. The roles included Process, Procurement, Financial, and Technical Advisors to the City of Ottawa and Infrastructure Ontario in delivering this 30-year DBFM, Alternative and Finance Procurement (AFP). Only with a successful collaboration was Commercial and Financial Close achievable.
The increasingly complex demands placed on this booming, diverse seaport have challenged its ability to balance the growing needs of the community with those of regional and global stakeholders. In response, the Port has established a vision that has made it synonymous with groundbreaking green initiatives that have formed the blueprint for the City’s broader community and regional development and regeneration plans.
