Basic Assessment (BA) Process for the Proposed Kayamandi Northern Extension Water Supply Pump Station, Pipelines and a Reservoir, Western Cape

 

The Stellenbosch Municipality is undertaking planning and infrastructure provision for the establishment of the Kayamandi Bulk Water Supply Pipe and Reservoir. AECOM SA (Pty) Ltd (AECOM) has been appointed to undertake a  BA process to obtain Environmental Authorisation (EA) in terms of Government Notice Regulations (GNR) No. 982, 983 and 985 of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations (2014), as amended, as promulgated in terms of the National Environmental Management Act, 1998 (Act No. 107 of 1998) (NEMA), as amended.

 

The draft BA Report must be made available to stakeholders for public comment. As such, an electronic copy of the original draft BA Report was made available on this link for a period of thirty (30) days from 10 December 2020 to 01 February 2021 until 01 February 2021. Comments arising from the original 30-day review required updating of the Draft BA Report and the updated report (Draft BA Report Version 2) must also be made available for comment for 30 days, to enable registered I&APs to comment on the changes to the draft BA Report (Version 2) documents.
