Mark Crussell

Principal Hydrologist

Mark is a chartered water and environmental manager with significant experience in sustainable water management developed over his 10 years’ experience.

With particular technical expertise in the assessment of flood risk, surface water runoff and sustainable drainage schemes (SuDS) design, he has worked for a number of local authorities and developers on drainage and SuDS projects ranging from pre-planning strategies through to detailed design. His schemes have managed runoff from both rural and urban areas and include features such as attenuation and infiltration basins, swales, rain gardens and open rills for conveyance.

In 2016, he helped deliver the Fonthill Park SuDS scheme, which was designed to alleviate flooding in a high risk area of the Southmead, Bristol, UK. Completed in 2016, this project has already helped mitigate flooding associated with Storm Angus.

Fonthill Park SuDS scheme

The Fonthill Park sustainable drainage scheme (SuDS) in Southmead, Bristol, UK, is alleviating flood risk in one of the high risk areas identified in Bristol City Council’s surface water management plan, as well as improving the value of the park.
