AECOM providing multi-disciplinary support for new NHS Louisa Jordan hospital

LONDON (Apr. 9, 2020) — AECOM, the world’s premier infrastructure firm, is providing engineering, consultancy and project management services to support the construction of the new temporary NHS Louisa Jordan hospital in Glasgow.

The conversion of the Scottish Events Campus (SEC) will initially provide NHS Scotland with 300 beds as part of the response to the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

AECOM’s work includes project management, cost management, electrical engineering and IT design, civil and structural engineering, mechanical design review, a supervisor team of building surveyors, and health and safety advice.

The firm, which currently has around 40 healthcare experts supporting delivery of the project, is working as part of the wider project team which is on site 24/7 to ensure rapid delivery of the facility.

AECOM UK&I Healthcare and Science Sector leader Richard Mann said: “Hospitals are complex structures which require bespoke construction and engineering so that NHS staff can care for patients with peace of mind that their workplace is fit for purpose. AECOM is extremely proud to be working alongside our peers and construction partners in Scotland’s built environment sector to support the Scottish Government, NHS Scotland and its frontline staff in their critical response to this crisis.”
