(Chelmsford, Mass. May 12, 2015) With the theme of advancing bioremediation and applying green and sustainable practices in remediation, AECOM remediation scientists and engineers are being featured at the Third Battelle International Symposium on Bioremediation and Sustainable Environmental Technologies, Miami, Florida, May 18-21 (AECOM is at booth 118). Battelle brings together scientists, engineers, regulators, site managers and environmental professionals from government, academia, service and R&D firms to advance the state of the art of bioremediation and sustainable remediation technologies from 30 countries.

A worldwide leader in professional technical and management support services with a leading remediation practice, AECOM’s global remediation team has extensive experience developing innovative solutions involving advanced remediation technologies. For the comprehensive technical program at Battelle, AECOM staff from around the world are contributing 16 platform presentations, 19 technical posters, chairing or moderating 6 technical sessions and panels, including critical discussions of Emerging Contaminants Chromium and 1,4 Dioxane, Chemical Fingerprinting and Forensics, and Rightsizing Remediation.

According to Dave Woodward, AECOM environment vice president and director of remediation technology, “The strength of our longstanding Battelle presence and contributions to bioremediation of challenging contaminants is evidenced in the influence of our experts and breadth of our papers and presentations. This is the advance work that helps us solve client remediation problems more effectively and sustainably.”

AECOM solves complex site challenges for clients by critically assessing the nature and extent of contamination; risks to receptors and safe exposure levels; and utilizes leading-edge biological, chemical and physical technologies to reduce project costs. AECOM has contributed extensively to the technical literature, assisted with regulatory guidance in first-mover states, and developed advanced tools, including the U.S. Air Force’s Sustainable Remediation Tool (SRT™) and GSRx™, a green and sustainable remediation best management practice tool.
