AECOM client KTC Civil Engineering & Construction Pte Ltd. has been awarded the contract for the design and construction of the Jurong Lake District station and tunnels for the Cross Island Line in Singapore. AECOM is the detailed design consultant for this submission.
Our team worked closely with our contractor client to design a cost-effective and safe scheme for this project. Contract CR211 comprises the design, construction and completion of a civil defence underground station, together with three entrances, ventilation shafts, cooling tower and other associated structures and facilities, cut-and-cover tunnels including cripple sidings and interface with Future Tunnel Infrastructure (FUI).
Our previous work on the Cross Island Line with the ultimate client, the Land Transport Authority of Singapore, combined with our familiarity with the insitu challenging ground conditions has been instrumental in providing synergy to the design process for the station and the rail line.
Located north of Ayer Rajah Expressway and south of Jurong Town Hall building, the proposed station will be part of the upcoming Jurong Lake District hub, which will be the largest business hub outside the central area once developed. The station is expected to be completed in 2032.
