The redevelopment of Valois Park is part of the City of Brossard’s strategy to revitalize its neighbourhood parks by creating modern, inclusive public spaces tailored to the needs of families. Located between Rue Valois, Place Vimy, and Place Valiquette, the park now serves as a gathering place for residents of all ages and contributes to enhancing the quality of life in the surrounding residential area.

Mandated by the City of Brossard, we provided the full range of professional services in landscape architecture and engineering for this project, including the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates, tendering assistance, and construction supervision through to final acceptance. The goal was to transform an existing space into a structured, welcoming, and attractive park capable of meeting the expectations of families and the neighbourhood while complying with safety and sustainability standards.

The design concept for Valois Park draws inspiration from a movie night theme, encouraging imagination, escapism, and social interaction. A central splash pad, accessible to the entire family, forms the heart of the park and is surrounded by play areas aligned with the theme and adapted to different age groups, from toddlers to older children (18 months to 5 years and 5 to 12 years). The play surfaces are installed on a distinctive rubber safety surface featuring colourful popcorn pictograms, combining comfort, safety, and visual appeal.

The design also includes the addition of concrete paver pathways, playful site furnishings, sculpted landforms designed to stimulate imagination, shaded areas, and upgraded lighting that allows the park to be enjoyed in the evening. The inclusion of biodiversity zones and new plantings enhances the tree canopy, improves stormwater management, and strengthens the site’s environmental performance, while creating a welcoming and calming landscape for users.
