New team leads will support clients as they face challenges such as the energy transition and reaching net zero
LONDON (Jan. 04, 2024) — AECOM, the world’s trusted infrastructure consulting firm, today announced it has appointed two new leads to its Environment, Water and Energy (EWE) business. Angela Mulgrew is to lead its Environment and Sustainability (E&S) team of more than 750 specialists in the UK and Ireland and Sarah Falconer has been appointed as the new E&S Energy Lead. The appointments will support AECOM’s expanding portfolio of work in delivering sustainable solutions for clients in response to climate change, a nature positive future and the energy transition.
“From consenting and permitting to engineering delivery, we support clients on projects including renewable energy and carbon capture, grid modernization and PFAS,” said Gert Vermeiren, managing director of the EWE business at AECOM in Europe. “With Angela and Sarah’s appointments, we are going from strength to strength and we are ideally placed to work with clients to help them solve their most complex problems, bolstering our expertise in integrating the different workstreams required for successful project delivery.”
Angela Mulgrew is a Chartered Environmentalist with more than 25 years’ experience in the environment and water industries in the UK and overseas. With previous roles at WSP, Capita and Arcadis, she brings a wealth of expertise and leadership to AECOM. Angela is also passionate about bringing purpose to people and driving equity, diversity and inclusion (ED&I).
“Our clients require support across the whole sustainability spectrum, from identifying risks to their business from climate change to enabling the energy transition or technical expertise on projects. I’m looking forward to working with the team at AECOM and contributing to the global capability and innovation we bring to our clients and project delivery,” she said.
Sarah Falconer has an extensive background with more than 25 years in environmental services, including Technical Director at WSP and Partner at ERM where she led sector growth and client development.
“I am passionate about the energy sector and am excited about supporting our clients to achieve their energy transition, particularly as the consents process is so central to delivering the energy infrastructure we need to reach net zero,” she said.
