John Kovacs, PE, LEED AP
President
John serves as President for AECOM Tishman. As President, he is responsible for overseeing operations, administration, business development, and nearly 1,000 employees working on various projects across the United States.
He also created and managed our Emerging Technologies Group, implementing BIM and other innovative technologies into our standard business practices. John has been with the AECOM Tishman team for 29 of his 31 years in the construction industry. In 2008, he was honored by Building Design & Construction as one of the industry’s “40 Under 40.” John is a Licensed Professional Engineer and a LEED Accredited Professional who has personally overseen the bidding, award, and execution of complex MEP systems at four of the five towers making up the reconstructed World Trade Center complex; given the interconnected nature of these buildings, the MEP pre-planning and coordination was among the most extensive and complex challenges ever managed by a construction company. His experience takes in hotels, residential towers, office buildings, casinos, kitchens, theaters, showrooms, broadcast studios, and trading floors. In addition, many of his projects were completed on fast-track schedules.
