Ella Matuschka
Graduate Bridge Engineer — Transportation, Auckland

Although new to the working world, integrating into AECOM has been really easy for me because of the people. I have found that people are willing to help and aid my learning; I appreciate this supportive environment at this point in my career.
I have a BEng Degree specialising in Civil and Environmental Engineering. I work as a graduate at AECOM in New Zealand in the Highways and Bridges team; I was fortunate to be granted the Peter North Scholarship as an undergraduate and took up an opportunity to join the Bridges team on the back of this. My passion lies in design, physics and sustainability; my role at AECOM is unique in that it enables me to use a combination of these every day.
I have been given a rare opportunity to be part of the biggest roading project that is currently taking place in New Zealand. This project is a highway project with 27 km of highway and consisting of 28 bridges; I haven’t looked back since I joined AECOM earlier this year.
