An AECOM joint venture with ECM Group Polska has been awarded a US$11.7-million contract for construction management of Poland’s new major Express Road S17.

Under the contract, the joint venture will provide construction management for the portion of the road that traverses the cities of Kurow, Lublin and Piaski. The project will bring 42 miles of road to expressway standards. It will also include construction of a bypass north of Lublin, service roads, 11 road junctions, an overpass over the Bystrzyca Jakubowicka Valley, underpasses for animals and other structures.

“We are excited to be such an integral part of this important transportation project,” said AECOM President and Chief Executive Officer John M. Dionisio. “The expressway will provide an important link for Poland’s travelers in this region.”

When completed, the road will run from Warsaw through Lublin, cross the Ukraine border and to the city of Lvov. The project is slated for completion during late 2012.
