AECOM is supporting a major partnership between Green Wind Renewables and Aula Energy on four wind farm projects in Western Australia

Green Wind Renewables and Aula Energy, a portfolio company of Macquarie Asset Management, are partnering to support Western Australia’s renewable energy transition. The collaborative efforts are set to deliver a portfolio of large-scale onshore wind farms totalling up to 2.4 GigaWatts (GW) in Western Australia.

The partnership is currently developing four projects in the Wheatbelt region, which are planned to be connected to the state’s South West Interconnected System (SWIS). Located in areas that experience optimal wind conditions, these projects demonstrate a significant commitment to advancing renewable energy infrastructure and reducing carbon emissions.

Green Wind Renewables has appointed AECOM to manage its Environment and Planning Services for the four onshore wind farms. In this role, AECOM will help obtain state and Commonwealth environmental approvals, planning approvals, and, where appropriate, heritage approvals to help Green Wind Renewables create and redefine renewable energy infrastructure in Western Australia. Supported by specialist sub-consultants, AECOM will oversee various studies carried out by teams across Australia and will partner with strategic planning firm Urbis to provide planning and heritage services, drawing on their recent successful planning approval of the King Rocks wind farm.
