Constructing the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, One World Trade Center, in the heart of a dense urban realm demanded a proven approach, and AECOM Tishman delivered.
AECOM Tishman has built more than 250 million square feet of high-rise commercial office space and is currently managing the construction of more than $9 billion of new, out-of-the-ground commercial projects. Our recent high-rise commercial towers have achieved many firsts:
- The first LEED-Platinum-certified commercial tower: The Bank of America Building at One Bryant Park
- The first “steel-first” office tower in New York: 7 World Trade Center
- The first building to stand at over 1,500-feet in the Western Hemisphere: One World Trade Center
- The first successful deployment of the cocoon safety system on a hybrid steel/concrete building: One World Trade Center and 4 World Trade Center
- The first energy efficient commercial tower: Four Times Square
In addition to core and shell construction, AECOM Tishman provides corporate interior fit-outs and renovations. We have completed over 50 million square feet of interior space across the country, with current work encompassing many of the most challenging and attractive projects under construction today. AECOM Tishman has a dedicated team of residential construction specialists who can guide even the most complex project towards a successful outcome. Our team has constructed more than 20,000 multi-family residential units in major urban centers across the country. From the final pieces of Riverside Center on Manhattan’s west side, to the mixed-use Metropolis development in downtown Los Angeles, to the Parc Riverside development on the capital riverfront in Washington D.C. – we understand the highly-specialized elements of residential towers as well as how to mitigate potential challenges and ensure project success.
AECOM Tishman is nationally renowned for constructing premier hospitality projects, with our portfolio comprising of opulent luxury hotel towers, boutique properties, and large-scale convention center hotels and mega resorts – including world-class casino and racino gaming venues. Our sector specialists apply proven best practices to meet the challenges of each hospitality project type across this varied sector. We have built more than 60,000 keys, valued at over $12 billion, and we currently have thousands more under construction, including the Sunset Times Hotel in West Hollywood, the Four Seasons Downtown in New York and the Four Seasons at One Dalton Street in Boston.
AECOM Tishman specializes in delivering large-scale transportation construction projects within active mass transit terminals, above operational subway tunnels and rail yards, and in major urban centers with challenging logistics and security concerns. In New York, our transportation specialists have completed iconic projects like the 800,000-square-foot World Trade Center Transportation Hub, phase one of the world-class redevelopment of the James A. Farley building into Moynihan Station, and the new Whitehall Ferry Terminal. In Boston, we have worked at Logan International Airport for over 20 years, and in New Jersey we recently completed the historic restoration and expansion of the Hoboken Terminal and Yard complex.
